Working with glass:

I found a Fischer Price toy record player in a picked over free pile on the side of the street a couple months back, complete with several plastic "records" that play different children's songs. I have been totally fascinated by the mechanisms that make these tiny, precious sounds play. I brought the player with me to Pilchuck Glass School, were I have been working for the past few weeks, and I decided to make a version of the record player and records myself... out of glass (and a microwave motor, but that'll be for a later post.) The images above are of the very first glass record.
